Engineering
Our engineering department's primary function is to design all tooling and create programs for our wire electrical discharge machines, CNC machining center, laser cutter and co-ordinate measuring machine.
Process
When engineering receives parts drawings or Cad files they are laid out and redrawn into a flat pattern with dimensions.
Our KeyCreator Cad-Cam software system is used to produce layout drawings for all of our tooling. Solid part files can be accepted but are only used for tooling layouts and reference only. See the table to the right for file formats that can be used to translate drawings and solid part files
When this process has been completed these drawings are downloaded and transferred to the quality control department for approval.
Once the drawings have been approved, a program for the Co-ordinate Measuring Machine is downloaded for inspecting the part.
Upon approval of these drawings are transferred to the tool room and production departments.

We require fully dimensioned prints for all part files.
